Jost Vineyards - Full Time Cellar Worker

Jost Vineyards is currently recruiting for a Permanent Fulltime Cellar Worker.

Start Date: Immediately
Place: Jost Vineyards
Wage Rate: Dependent on experience
Working Hours: Full time 

Duties Include:

  • Follow written list of cellar tasks accurately, and complete in a time- effective manner.
  • Operate Winery equipment as required.
  • Wine Transfers, blending, racking, topping, and barrel maintenance.

Requirements:

  • Able to perform physical-demanding work on a regular basis.
  • Able to lift 50lbs.
  • WHMIS training, a forklift certificate and confined space training is an asset but not mandatory.

We will train as necessary.

Seagrape Café F&B Server/Wine consultant

This is a position with versatility! The successful candidate will be given shifts both in our Seagrape Café serving F&B and also serving and discussing local wines with our guests at our wine sampling bar. We offer a fun, fast paced, tourism driven environment. We will definitely enhance and grow your culinary, event planning, customer service and local wine knowledge during your tenure with us. Our café is open 7 days per week with 35 indoor seats and 65 seats on our patio; as well as a very busy wine sampling bar indoors, adjacent to our retail area. We are a team minded company that offers support and mentorship while we work side by side during our exciting and lively tourist season. Wine training and local wine knowledge will be provided.

Working Hours: Full time & part-time, during peak season, May-October 15th possible later, TBD 
Must be flexible to work weekends
Reports to: Head Chef

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Greeting and seating of guests in our Seagrape Café
  • Taking food and wine orders
  • Table service of food and beverage
  • Assist tourists and guests with wine sampling & local wine information
  • Assisting with festivals and events
  • Assist with stocking of wine and retail items in retail store
  • Assist with retail sales in retail store
  • Serving guests in a fast paced environment

Jost Vineyards - Retail Associate

Reports to: Retail Manager

Job Purpose:
The Retail Associate is primarily responsible to ensure that guests have a positive experience. They provide guests with information and assistance designed to assist them with their needs. Retail Associates provide the main form of interaction between the public and our brand. As such, they are our primary brand ambassadors & are expected to display & provide a lasting positive image with visitors to the winery and the public at large.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Greet visitors to the winery in a positive hospitable manner. Outgoing & dynamic.
  • Provide guests with helpful & knowledgeable assistance with their retail shopping decisions.
  • Interact with guests to determine wine styles, products they will enjoy.
  • Perform opening/closing duties following procedures and checklists.
  • Perform all Point of Sale duties & procedures, including credit/debit reconciliation.
  • Manage product displays in an ongoing attractive & stocked manner.
  • Conduct informative tastings at the product tasting counter in a manner that encourages sales of products.
  • Be proactive in decision making.
  • Strong ability to multi-task and manage multiple situations at once.
  • Ability to work as part of a team & display interpersonal skills.
  • Basic computer skills are required.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Must be of legal age to serve alcohol.
  • Able to perform food service procedures on the licensed patio.
  • Previous retail, food & beverage service and tourism-related experience is a strong asset.

• Harvesting Grape Crop
• Assist  with Grape Processing
• Other Wine Cellar duties

Requirements:
• Able to work flexible schedules, some early mornings, evenings and weekends
• Physically fit; able to lift 50lbs

  • Prepare food to the chef's/recipe standards
  • Maintain a clean station while working under pressure in a fast paced environment
  • Follow line par/prep/stock sheets to get station ready for service

  • Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently

Qualifications:

  • Kitchen experience (asset)
