MALAGASH, NOVA SCOTIA — June 24, 2026 — Jost Vineyards is proud to announce that its Jost Blue Latitude Nova Scotia Cool White has been awarded the Trophy for Best Hybrid White Wine of the Year at the 2026 All Canadian Wine Championships (ACWC).
The 2026 competition marked the introduction of the Hybrid Wine of the Year category, making Jost Blue Latitude Nova Scotia Cool White the inaugural recipient of this prestigious award. The recognition highlights the growing importance of hybrid grape varieties in Canadian winemaking and celebrates innovation within the industry.
"We are incredibly proud of our Head Winemaker, Gina Haverstock, and her winemaking team," said Carl Sparkes, CEO and Co-owner of Jost Vineyards. "They challenged themselves to create a fresh, distinctly Nova Scotian hybrid blend that showcases the finest aspects of our region's terroir. This award is a testament to their creativity, expertise, and commitment to quality."
Founded in 1981 by Brian Bannon, the All Canadian Wine Championships is one of Canada's most respected wine competitions. Entries are evaluated by approximately 18 judges from across the country, including wine writers, sommeliers, and certified professional judges from the Wine Judges of Canada.
This year, more than 420 wines from eight provinces were submitted across ten competition categories, making the achievement especially meaningful.
The award reinforces Nova Scotia's growing reputation as a world-class wine region and highlights the potential of hybrid varieties to express the unique character of Canada's cool-climate terroirs.
